Savannah Grewal named winner of the 2022 Suzann Pettersen Qualifier presented by Frankenmuth Insurance
Grewal earns exemption spot into the 2022 Dow Great Lakes Bay Invitational
Savannah Grewal earned an exemption spot into the 2022 Dow Great Lakes Bay Invitational after winning the Suzann Pettersen Qualifier presented by Frankenmuth Insurance at The Fortress in Frankenmuth, Michigan on June 8. Grewal will join a field of 72 two-woman teams competing in a 72-hole stroke play format with alternating rounds of foursomes (alternate shot) and four-ball (best ball) with a $2.5 million purse. She will choose her amateur playing partner in the coming weeks for the Dow GLBI taking place July 10 -16, 2022 at Midland Country Club.
Grewal fired a 3-under 141 to win the Suzann Pettersen Qualifier presented by Frankenmuth Insurance. The Mississauga, Ontario native is currently a member of the Clemson Tigers Women's Golf Team. In 2021, she became the first player in Clemson history to make a hole-in-one during the second round of the Clemson Invitational.
The qualifier kicked off on June 6 with a practice round and a welcome reception hosted by Dow Sustainability Ambassador and 2023 European Solheim Cup Team Captain Suzann Pettersen. Players across North America competed in the 36-hole single stroke play tournament. This year marked the first time Pettersen has hosted the qualifier for the Dow GLBI.
