Selected Nonprofits Announced for the Dow GLBI’s 2021 #TeamUp for the Great Lakes Bay Region
MIDLAND, Mich. (April 22, 2021) – The Dow Great Lakes Bay Invitational unveiled the 36 nonprofits that will be participating in the 2021 #TeamUp for the Great Lakes Bay Region program. Over 100 nonprofits in the Great Lakes Bay Region applied for the chance to be paired with two LPGA teams set to compete at the 2021 Dow GLBI.
“Since our inaugural year, the Dow GLBI has had the pleasure of teaming up with nonprofits that are making a significant impact in the Great Lakes Bay Region,” said Dow GLBI executive director Chris Chandler. “We look forward to celebrating alongside these nonprofit organizations as they cheer on the best female golfers in the world.”
The following 501(c)(3) nonprofits (7 each from Saginaw, Bay, Midland, Isabella plus 8 regional nonprofits) were selected based on their organization’s impact to STEM, Sustainability, Inclusion, and/or Innovation.

Each of the chosen 36 nonprofits will be paired with two of the 72 LPGA teams. Each LPGA team is worth $2,250 – guaranteeing $4,500 for each nonprofit. A total pool of $237,500 will be donated through this program. Organizations can earn bonus funds through the Pro-Am pairings event, tournament rounds and being the most engaged charity. Details about these funds and team pairings will be announced at a later date. In 2019, HopeWell Ranch and The Care Store were selected as the most engaged charities.

The Dow GLBI continued its partnership with the Midland Area Community Foundation, Bay Area Community Foundation, Saginaw Community Foundation and the Mt. Pleasant Area Community Foundation to assist with the 2021 selection process.
“We are so appreciative to have the support from our all of our community foundations in the Great Lakes Bay Region,” said Dow GLBI tournament director Wendy Traschen. “Now more than ever, our tournament is able to make a lasting impact on organizations in need during the COVID-19 pandemic.”
