Every rose has its thorn: Georgia Hall, Charley Hull team up for Dow Championship, announced as Olympic qualifiers

MIDLAND, Mich. – In the leadup to the first round of the 2024 Dow Championship, Georgia Hall and Charley Hull brought an energy that comes with not only being childhood friends, but now also teammates.
They will play together in this week’s team event at Midland Country Club, which comes on the heels of the third major of the year, the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship at Sahalee. Now known as the Dow Championship, this event is one of the few team events on the LPGA Tour. It is a month earlier than normal due to preparation for the Paris Olympics; Hall and Hull were announced as part of the Top 60 qualifiers Tuesday morning.
When asked about playing at the Paris Olympics with Georgia, Charley Hull said, “Obviously that week is going to be a bit of a busy week, but it's just nice to share it with your best friend in a moment like that.”
The pair grew up playing golf together in England, so when the time came to choose partners for the Dow Championship, it was, as Georgia Hall said, a “a no-brainer”.
Charley Hull said, “It was more like ‘Georgia, you’re playing with me.’”
The two are pretty confident that their long-lasting friendship will put them at an advantage, and because they know the other’s game inside out, their only plan to just trust each other on the course.
“As long as you give it your best, Georgia, I don’t care if she puts me behind a tree,” Charley Hull said. “I just have to get out of trouble, or vice versa.”
