Lexi Thompson Crowned Inaugural Dow Impact Award Winner
Thompson wins with nearly half of the total votes cast by fans
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla., and MIDLAND, Mich. – November 4, 2025
– Following a month-long fan vote process that garnered more than 3,400 votes, Dow and the LPGA Tour are excited to announce Lexi Thompson as the first-ever recipient of the Dow Impact Award, which honors LPGA athletes who exemplify passion, service and excellence both on and off the course. Amongst a class of five notable nominees, Thompson received 48% of the votes and in turn will receive $25,000 cash and a matching contribution to the Morgan Pressel Foundation, the charity of her choice.
Thompson was recognized by the LPGA, Dow and fans as an athlete who not only pursues excellence in her sport but also uses her platform to better the lives of those around her. Her commitment to caring for specific communities in creative and innovative ways is what Dow strives to embody - and why Thompson's efforts stood out during the Dow Impact Award nomination and voting processes:
-
Through her Lexi Thompson Foundation, she has helped serve not only her own Florida community but communities all around the country.
-
She is active in youth golf organizations, including Friends of Golf, First Tee, American Golf Foundation, and Girls Golf, where she served as a 2023–24 ambassador encouraging girls to take up the sport.
-
She supports several breast cancer research organizations like the Morgan Pressel Foundation and the Susan G. Komen breast cancer organization.
-
Thompson is an advocate for veterans, regularly partnering with and supporting the Wounded Warriors project as well as the SEAL Legacy Foundation, which aims to help families of Navy Seals.
"I am honored to be named the first recipient of the Dow Impact Award," said Thompson. "I am especially thankful to the fans who cast their votes for me throughout this process. I am grateful to Dow for providing us nominees a platform, allowing us to bring awareness to the various causes and charities we help support to a wider audience."
Rose Zhang was named runner-up of the 2025 Dow Impact Award, earning 26% of the votes and a $10,000 cash award. Recognized for her commitment to making golf more accessible and inclusive, Zhang serves as a 2025-26 Girls Golf Ambassador, gives opportunities to young athletes through the Fortinet Stanford Invitational hosted by Rose Zhang, and established the Liberty National Achieve Competitive Excellence (ACE) Grant Endowment, a permanent fund aimed at providing financial assistance to aspiring young female golfers from California. Other 2025 Dow Impact Award nominees included Moriya and Ariya Jutanugarn, Jennifer Kupcho and Gaby Lopez – each of them outstanding examples of servant leaders.
"The Dow Impact Award is all about celebrating LPGA athletes who use their influence as a force for good, reflecting Dow’s commitment to driving positive change in our communities,” said Carlos Padilla II, VP of Global Sports Marketing at Dow. “The inaugural class of nominees reflected that mission perfectly, and Dow congratulates Lexi on earning the well-deserved honor. Her dedication to making a difference on and off the course exemplifies the impact we hope to inspire through this program. By pairing the recognition with monetary awards, our hope is to celebrate impact and expand it. We look forward to continuing this recognition each year to spotlight more athletes who are inspiring lasting change.”
